Sci-fi animation will never get old. My Hero Academia takes place in a world where most people can develop superpowers when they are young children and the rest is history. Tap into the hero vs villain story and it's no wonder why My Hero Academia has a huge following of fans that love it.

Originally released in 2016 the show kicked off with a phenomenal season 1 that was praised by writers at IGN and won the Sugoi Japan Award in 2017 at the Japan Expo Awards. Some of the other best praises for the show came from Paste and Polygon which both ranked My Hero Academia into top anime lists of all time and of the 2010s respectfully. The real seal of approval was when Crunchyroll listed it as a top 25 anime in the 2010's.

It's also worth noting that there was some controversy with My Hero Academia in 2020 when one of the character's names referenced controversy in South Korea and China. It was removed from the digital platforms in China and the names were then changed. Ironically, the show peaked interest around the same time in January of 2020 and was especially popular amongst 18-29 year olds.
